The Republican/Mccain camp hasn't been to good for education, considering the whipping we've been getting from the rest of the world.

 

Yes, the Democrats and the Republicans have damaged our education system. There are ways to remedy this, but the two parties seem unwilling to take the necessary steps.

 

Indeed, both parties have kind of passed the ball on fixing education.  But Obama is willing to make college more affordable, which is definitely a step in the right direction.

Now if we could just fix our high schools...

 

Fix our what? High schools? hahahahaha.

You can thank No Child Left Behind for that. They replaced what we had to a system of teaching to standardized tests EVEN MORE than what we had. At least we had a system where the cream of the crop could get ahead through accelerated programs. It single handedly took out the Gifted/Talented program when I went to high school.

We need someone who actually knows something about education to head the Dept of Education.
