Does anyone buy a console or game because of popularity?

Never, I only buy consoles based on what will be released on it and the funcionality of the consoles. I bought the WII with the Japanese release and no one knew back then it was going to be that populair. Plus I'm buying the PS3 soon and at the moment, the PS3 is not what you can call extremely popular but is slowely getting there. I just buy a console when I feel like buying one.
