They tend to have some neat combos but if they lose the initiative in an engagement they tend to end up toast. Specially early on, not enough HP to survive, not enough mana to perform big combos.
Haven't played dota since mid-2007 tho, I wouldn't mind giving it a go again but I'm not paying for a warcraft box again, lost my serials moving =(
