Would it still open and close?

1. Try multiple CD's and DVD's and see if they all have the same issue
2. Go to My Computer and make sure it at least recognizes you have a CD drive
3. Have you changed anything recently?  Updated?  How long has this been happening?
4. Have you recently kicked or moved your computer?
5. Does your drive show up in device manager?

 

it started tonight it just started to click a bit and i dont think ive had any major updates for anything of late my computer still says it has a CD drive :E/ 

if the drive is no essential to run the computer seeing as i rarely use it will it be alright to disconnect it
