first of all, zelda is definitely not an rpg. you can say what you want about what an rpg is or isn't. but every rpg i've ever played is fundamentally completely different than zelda. zelda is an action-adventure game.
i'd say snes is the best console for rpgs. although i haven't played a ton of ps1 or ps2 rpgs. then again i haven't even played all the really good snes rpgs. but no other system has a top 3 like ffIV, ffVI, and chrono trigger. and then backing them up you've got great games like secret of mana, super mario rpg, earthbound, breath of fire, and others. ps1 and ps2 might have more good rpgs than snes, but snes has plenty of good ones and several rpgs of the absolute highest quality and no other system has more than one game on the level of those top 3. in fact i'd argue that no system except ps1 even has even one rpg of that quality.
end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million, 360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million
Games I've beat recently: Super Mario Galaxy, Knights of the Old Republic, Shadow of the Collossus
