I downloaded and played the Special Stage (100 points), it's out today. For people that have a hard time with the normal game, this stage is going to kick their ass.
Just about every hard/annoying enemy populates the level. There are all kinds of jumps and instant death traps. And there are minibosses dispersed throughout, including the flower from Hornet Man's level, the rock from Jewel Man's level...and yes, there's even a boss from WILY'S FORTRESS tossed in there like cannon fodder. And you still have to make it to the end of the stage.
So I fought Fake Man. He was annoying, especially since I was trying to figure out what worked on him (buster wasn't cutting it fast enough), but I won in the end with like 3 pixels of life left. He sort of reminds me of Gemini man with the jumping around and shooting and chasing you.
No, you don't get a power from him and no, he doesn't transform into anyone else (rumors KILLED).
I didn't touch the difficuty modes.
