I'm not sure these bankers are idiots... What did they lose, personally?
Some of them lost their jobs, but they probably made enough money in the meantime to last their whole lives.
The losers are us, the taxpayers who are now paying for the losses they caused (while not benefiting from the profits). Worse than that, many of us will lose our jobs as a bonus.
