Well now, here's something that came out of nowhere. Yesterday, someone at the PSPGen forums discovered a system recovery menu for the PS3. The French PS3 owner who made the discovery stumbled upon it after messing up his installation of Linux on FW 2.50. Here's his video (most of it is Linux stuff, but it's only towards the end where you actually get to see the recovery menu):
According to PSPHax, the recovery menu can be accessed by doing the following (given that you're running FW 2.50, of course):
This will mean anyone can now repair software failures themselves. This should save Sony a lot of repair and shippingcosts (even at the low returnrates we are speaking of thens of thousands that malfunction in that way) and consumers a lot of time.
