it will kill any decent PS3 sales WW....look at Eternal Sonata
they just lost a whole (by then) 17 Million strong console userbase....
If it is meant to be their "3rd" big seller 360 alone won't get this JRPG around the 3 - 5 million sales range
that was their first misstep. |
I think there expecting sales more modest like 1-2 million copies. I don't think it is possible for TLR, as a series to sell as well as an FF and DQ game after only one game. BTW, S-E already have a third pillar with Kingdom Hearts. They WOULD also have other pillar franchises but they either haven't made a game in those series for years(Chrono, Xenogears, Parasite Eve) or they milked them to the point where they lost most of their popularity(SaGa, Mana).

I forgot KH :(
But a series needs to start somewhere....why couldn't this be the breakthrough that was KH....why couldn't it?
I am not assuming it will.....I was saying that due to it being 360 timed exclusive the chances of becoming a "breakthrough" are really low
as hype will have died by the time the Ps3 version comes out....also I think it will get near LO on 360....
what SE needed was a simulteneous release where the 360 version got near LO n the starved Ps3 JRPG fans helped it get to almost say double LO sales....

they wanted it to have huge sales and ofcourse they wanted that because they wanted loads money now they the got the money so u know it doesn't matter
|
they definetely did get money from Microsoft as I don't buy the UE 3 problem story
if that is so....why don't they release PS3's FF13 when its finished while completing the 360's one
________
But the truth is this move may loose them future sales....it may loosen & weaken the base of this franchise....what could have been say 2 million + seller....could now maybe be constrained to 1 million in sales....this move won't be worthwile n the long run if they want it to be a franchise.

The UE3 has trouble running on the PS3. It's a proven fact. BTW, I think the game will sell just fine in the West provided S-E give it a good marketing campaign. It's only in Japan where TLR sales are affected by the 360 timed exclusivety.
