That's not true exactly. Jesus' doctrine requires believers to maintain a different relationship to the law than Judaism does, but it does not automatically supercede that law, and in many case actually holds people to a higher standard than the law.
There are laws which it does plainly supercede though, such as whether or not doing certain things on the Sabbath is a sin or whether or not eating certain types of food is a sin.
