I also would like to point out that in the houses that have hd-tvs that i know of, neither PS3 nor 360 are hooked up to the hd-tv, but they are in the bedrooms of the people that play on those systems. Hell, even in my own house, my consoles are hooked up to my personal TV rather than a bigger TV downstairs. I would love to play my games on a bigger screen, but the rest of my family wants to watch some TV too.

So even if HDTVs start to penetrate the market, there is still a possibility that it will have little effect on hd-console sales simply because most households wont be able to afford several HDTVs.
