I agree with this, however I think it should be said:
There is no such thing is a linked storyline for every Zelda game. There are only 5 Zelda games that are in any way connected:
Ocarina of Time
Majoras Mask
--thousands to hundreds of thousands of years pass--
Twilight Princess
--hundreds of thousands of years pass--
Wind Waker
Phantom Hourglass
That's it. If you try to connect anything else you will only end up looking like an idiot lol. Every Zelda game simply does not connect.
