killzone 2 = realistic in-war shooter
Resistance 2 = fantasy sci fi shooter

both are very different but are nonetheless very impressive to me ;)

HAHAHAHA, that's a good one.

You do realise that Killzone isn't even set on earth? it's not even set in a time in human history (warring factions from different space colonies, anyone?). When was the last time you heard a soldier take 15-20 bullets of machine gun fire before dying?

Realistic? no chance.

Killzone 2 has very little going for it in terms of being different from most FPS on consoles.

Anyway, one thing I will say about Killzone, that I've noticed is quite rare in War FPS, is that it's very good out showing the intensity and how hectic war is on the ground.

But I'm not sure if anyone noticed this but, it seems like the game lacks assisted aiming, because the player (who looked like he had no idea how to play the game anyway) had a fair bit of trouble lining up his shots. This'll have a pretty big impact on gameplay if it really doesn't have assisted aiming (which is pretty much essential to console FPS and the reason why Halo succeeded in what many thought an impossible genre for home consoles).

Anyway, I said this a while ago and the status hasn't changed, I'm intrigued by Killzone 2.

Killzone 2 has more realistic gameplay and weapons than Resistance 2.  The weapons are gunpowder based, unlike Resistance, where half the weapons shoot energy beams of some form, and the entire focus of the Killzone franchise since the beginning has been making the movements and actions of your character as realistic and lifelike as possible (hence the somewhat slower reloads, the shaky camera, etc.). It also doesn't take 15-20 bullets to kill somebody.

And I wouldn't worry about the (presumed on your part) lack of auto aim.  Actually, I wouldn't worry about the controls at all.
