I don't have an Xbox 360 but can think of a major reason why someone who experiences RROD would still get another system... they have games for it already. For example, I have the Wii and about 20+ games for it. So if my Wii crapped out, I'm just going to give up on it if Nintendo was going to replace it at no cost to me? What do I do with my games? Even if I sell them, there is no way I get the money back I spent on them.

So of course, if someone has any system and it fails, they will somehow get a new one if they have a game library for it. And especially if it's games they love. My Dreamcast had stopped working years back but I had a lot of games for it and knew eventually I would buy a new one somehow. Thank goodness for the incredible used video game store near me that has great finds there.

I will say though that the RROD is one thing that makes me question buying it. I'd rather buy Microsoft over Sony but with Blu Ray and the threat of RROD, it has me leaning towards Sony. Microsoft has fixed the situation with the 360 somewhat, haven't they? Are newer Xbox 360's more reliable than older models?

I'll come up with something better eventually...
