I rented the game. The first 8 hours were fun. But both me and my son ended up with sore shoulders. By the time I got into expert mode, I was totally losing interest and didn't complete it. The multiplayer mode was fun, and my girls weren't happy that I had to return it. Worthwhile game at the right price. $50? No. $20, maybe. $10 as a WiiWare game? Sure!

amp316: I don't see how Boom Blox could be considered a stellar 3rd party game. And I don't know who is saying that it is. Sure, there are people who like it, but stellar it is not.

What it is, however, is evidence that 3rd parties are beginning to support the Wii. Whether or not you liked Boom Blox is not important. Obviously some people do. It was Stephen Spielberg's first foray into the gaming environment, and he chose the Wii. EA revamped their sports titles for Wii specific features. High Voltage systems is investing tons of time into "The Conduit" -- a developer spending tons of time on a Wii game? Unheard of! Even developers that have never written a game for a Nintendo system are looking at developing for the Wii. Just because no 3rd party developer has written a game that appeals to YOU doesn't mean there isn't lots of 3rd party support and good games to play, now or in the future.

Personally, I look at muramasa: the demon blade and I think it looks gorgeous from an artistic standpoint. My son absolutely loves the lego games and a few others. Sure, "trash games" to some, treasure games to us. But if you base your entire opinion of 3rd party developers for the Wii on one game, Boom Blox at that, then you're really shortchanging yourself.
