@cactus: Situation where they take up to 6 years in between announcements and releases, while the rest of the companies get high quality titles in much less time. Also the ports/remakes are starting to get annoying. Furthermore not everything SE makes is gold, far from it. To give you some examples IU was mediocre, Soul Eater was terrible, their new FFCC game for the Wii is just a DS port. I can't get excited over TLR because of their recent games, which weren't very good or well received in terms of sales, like Sigma Harmonics.

The sad thing is that Japanese keep on buying ports and remakes, so I believe that SE will end up like Koei, who re release their games hundreds of times in every possible platform because stupid people keep on buying them.

What big announcements have SE made this year? None, because they live on promises of future games to come. People will buy games from other companies while SE makes their own. ToV > IU in sales and critics reception, that's solid proof. And their console strategy is just terrible. Making the majority of their console RPG's exclusive to the 360 is idiotic considering that JRPG's don't sell good on the west and that 360 has an insignificant userbase in Japan. What this shows clearly is that SE needs money desperately and that they are willing to develop mediocre games for the sake of some quick money offered in a moneyhat.

Not everything Capcom makes is gold, not everything EA makes is gold, not everything Ubisoft make is gold and so on and so forth.  S-E are still capable of making great games whether you want to believe it or not.
