Ubi is okay, but they're better known for making great games that appeal to niche demographics, not most gamers, and are hit and miss in their quality. They're a good developer but an unremarkable one when taken into perspective, still none the less probably one of the better Western developers.
Before this generation they recieved little notoriety, even with a good number of recognized games. Now that they are producing big name titles (largely for the PS3) they are getting a little more recognition and are being seen as one of the more notable players in deciding what console gets the better games.
