To the original poster:

No one thinks of the Xbox 360 as being cheaper than the Wii. While Microsoft tags the "Now starting at $199" on the end of its funded commercials for third-party software (ironically usually multi-platform software), most store ads push the $299 model -- which is a far better value. (Of course, it costs another $100 for a wireless adapter, which no one talks about).

The Arcade has caused some sales increases, but nothing in the dramatic neighborhood which would be needed to challenge the Wii in North America. And given the evidence from Europe, it is doubtful that that will happen.

...

Now if I may be allowed to delve into politics for just a minute. The current Republican Treasury Secretary is talking about buying stakes in banks. And the Republican Presidential candidate has floated a plan to buy mortgages that been blasted as being a big government takeover by conservatives. So it appears that there are "socialists" all over the political spectrum right now.

(And thank you for changing your sig back to supporting your candidate rather than objecting to the opposing candidate. You are showing what democracy is supposed to be about rather what you were showing before -- the trap into which it has fallen).

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
