Ryo Hazuki has a good soul 
Look how helpful he is towards everybody in the Shenmue universe (You know, Helping a dear old lady find an apartment or caring for the orphaned kitten)
You can tell he's a genuinely good chap and a very honourable person
But did you see how he looked at Lan Di when Lan Di was flying away in the helicopter at the end of Shenmue 2?
Lan Di just seems to bring out the beast in Ryo
