leo-j, don't worry man there is still the growing take2, crossovers like Buena Vista and Vivendi, and several upstarts that look very promising (gamecock)
When two companies join they usually end up smaller than the two individually, leaving more room for competition to grow.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
