Remember, that MS never really wanted HD-DVD to win. If they did, even 360 would have had one in it.
All they wanted, was to "delay" BluRays victory over HD-DVD - to make it even harder for it to become adopted as a standard.
Its just like this generation - its not about winning, its about neutralising Sony. They have done a pretty good job to date :P

So all those people who bought the HD-DVD add-on for the XBox360 were just part of Microsoft's plan to delay Bluray adoption? And you guys LIKE Microsoft?
Well.. all those people who bought a PS3 were just part of Sony's plan to make Blu-Ray succesfull, so what's the point?
Lies. I bought a PS3 for games. Blu-Ray was just an (excellent) bonus.
So? I didn't say that people bought a PS3 just because of Blu-Ray, i said that everyone that bought a PS3 (it doesn't matter if it was because of games or movies) were just part of Sony's plan to make Blu-Ray succesful.
um, are you saying that Sony wanting blu ray to be successful is the same as Microsoft pushing hd dvd just so blu ray wouldn't be successful, or successful quickly?
I'm saying that both were plan from the companies, bobobologna suggested that people should hate MS because they used the HD-DVD to delay the Blu-Ray adoption, so i if that the case people should hate Sony because they used the PS3 to make faster the Blu-Ray adoption.

The difference here, assuming the statement is correct, is that Sony is trying to encourage Blu-Ray sales for their own benefits while Microsoft tried to encourage HD-DVD sales to sabotage Blu-Ray sales. That sounds like a douchebag move.
