I have another, not as strong point, but still somewhat valid.

There is a sense of ownership to the games that you buy. When you pirate something, you don't feel that same sense of owning the game. You don't get that same drive or passion to play and beat it.

One thing that I've noticed is that when you pirate games, you don't necessarily play video games more than you'd think.

I devoted literally hundreds of hours into each DS game I own, but after I got a method of "pirating" for the DS, I've yet to devote over 2 hours into any pirated game (except Izuna, which I'll be buying when I get the chance- damn Atlus and their limited supply launches).



By life end:

  • Wii- 100 million+
  • Xbox360- 35~40 million
  • PS3- 30 million
  • PSP- 30~32 million ------------- FAILURE
  • NDS- 85~90 million (Skeptical)  - FAILURE
  • NDS- 100 million+ (Optimistic) -- Success!
