The Americans and Germans both knew this guy was dubious...at best. There were signs before the war began that this guy should not be trusted. Unfortunately, they did not heed these warning signs. It does not surprise me he was nervous during the interview. From what I know, the guy was apparently crazy and suffered from nervous breakdowns...how comforting to know he was a focal point in our case for war.
