Sadly it will not happen till 2010 especially even Ninty themselves are doing it porting their GC games with wii controls...
Its profit, its business ports and remakes sell just deal with it...
And about spin off, I think 3rd parties dont do that anymore even Squeenix they developing for the HD consoles instead.
The only 3rd party I've known that making spin offs are Konami with Castlevania Judgement

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced
E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.
E3 2010- Tape runs out
