The real issue with piracy is why people do it... because i believe that in NA or EU or JP there very few people who pirate a game... because is easy to find the game you want and you can purchase at and accesible price... but what happens in other countries of the world?? Sometimes games are impossible to find or if you can find it you have to pay 2 times retail price...
Piracy is not a big issue in NA or EU or JP... is a big issue in China, South America and other coutries were piracy is an industries... when i went on vacation to South America... you could see people buying ps2 pirated games on the street... modded PS2 where sell directly to the customer...
I think this happens because those regions are left out of the "gaming" business... we never read a piece of news about any given console launch at those regions... but i don't know... i also dislike the fact that you cannot play imports on your console...
