Perhaps 6 months which isn't much to brag about considering the slim sales advantage the 360 has shown against the original xbox. It'll be more than lucky if it ever hits 30 million.

Outselling the first xbox at a higher price point nothing to brag about? ask Sony how's it worked for them selling the ps3 at a higher price point than the ps2.

Ps2 = 140 million

xbox = 26 or so million.

HUUUUGE difference. The ps3 is doing fine so far and is still within reach of PS2 sales at this point in their respective life cycles. The 360 probably ending up selling somewhere around the N64 (32 million) by the time all is said and done isn't much to brag about.

You should be banned from making predictions.

for starters the xbox did a shade over 24 million and the 360 will easily pass that figure this christmas, and the ps3 is so far out of reach of the ps2 sales its not even funny! roll on when the 360 hits 40 million :) because it will happen if you actually look at the figures without your fanboy goggles on.

If you cared to look at hardware from launch chart on this site you would see that the ps3 is tracking very closely to the ps2 at this point in their lifecycle. It is within close reach of PS2's sales.

Oh I have, what you fail to realize is that the ps2 had a staggered launch, look at hardward from launch> ps2 vs ps3 japan, then america, then others, then europe. You will get a very different picture.

Let me make it easier for you, these are numbers for both the ps2 and ps3 being out in each territory for just under 2 years.

Japan

PS2 - 7.7 million

PS3 - 2.4 Million

America

PS2 - 12.4 million

PS3 - 6 million

Total Others (not two years but I will give numbers of what the ps2 did in the time the ps3 has been out)

PS2 - 10 million

PS3 - 7.3 million

Overall -

PS2 - 30.1 million

PS3 - 15.7 million
