My generation of my family is the first one in a long time, I think, to not have someone serve in the military.  My dad was in the Navy in Vietnam, his dad was in the Navy in WWII, and SOMEONE was in the Spanish-American War because my family still has what looks to me like a cavalry sword.  I don't know about WWI.

I can beat you all!

I am related to Andrew Jackson!

Now too bad I hate the bastard's guts...

That depends on what you mean by beat. I'm a direct descendant of Charlemagne.

I'm a retired Army Officer. My father and three uncles are retired military officers and they all served in Vietnam and one in Korea. One uncle dead in Vietnam. Grandfather a retired Army Officer who was on Ike's staff during the North African Campaign. Two uncles dead in WWII. Great-Grandfather a retired Army Officer who served in WWI. Great-Great-Grandfather fought in the battle of Massass and the 2nd Battle of Bull Run, where he was wounded. Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandfather fought in the War of Independence.

I have five relatives interred at Arlington National Cemetery.

As far as the election goes, I don't think any of US were qualified to be President of the United States based on our military service.
