The game's out October 21 in America, but the Japanese will sadly have to wait 'til October 30 to get a chance at it. They have some neat stuff to wait for, too, considering the plans SCE Japan have afoot for LBP. The company is planning a suite of three hardware bundles -- the "PlayStation 3 LittleBigPlanet Dream Box" -- with the game, an 80GB PS3, and two DualShock 3 wireless controllers included. The console bundle, available in Clear Black, Ceramic White and Satin Silver colors, retails for 44,980 yen. Another package, with just the game and a single DualShock in your choice of color, will go for 7980 yen. If you're Japanese, that means you're genetically predisposed to awwing over cute, little things. This naturally means you'll want to get in on LBP's first pressing in Japan -- it comes with a code that lets you download a Sackboy off the PlayStation Store that looks just like one of those 'orrible Ape Escape apes. Eep!
The new bundle will also come with a free game included: the new "Spec III" version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which includes three new cars, some updates to steering control, and a difficulty level that's been bumped down a bit for novice drivers. "With [Spec III] being included with the 80GB model, we've refined the game balance with an eye toward beginners," said Kazunori Yamauchi, president of GT5 developer Polyphony Digital, in an interview with Weekly Famitsu magazine. "The event races are easier, the prize money higher, and you can proceed along pretty easily up to a point." Both Articles By Kevin Gifford and are fully available at 1up.com Wow. I'm jealous of Japan. Those PS3s for the LBP bundles sound sexy. |
