For every person that loves World of Warcraft there is one that has no interest in playing it every again.

haha, that's true.  I used to be a no-life raider but quit it because I needed to get my life back.  No intention to go back unless for some reason I decide to destroy my real life again or unless Blizzard radically changes the time-consuming scheme of end-game raiding.

WoW is definitely a great game. Actually It's too great so that it's a bit dangerous to people with addiction problems like me.  This is not to say that some people can't play WoW casually.  But if you try really hard to achieve server-firsts in a reasonably competitive realm, it gets increasingly harder to balance real life and WoW especially after a year or so.

One regret I have is I didn't get to see the whole end-game raid instances in the expansion pack since I quit shortly after doing Karazhan.  But then again, I don't want to go back to raiding.  So a few days ago I installed a private WoW server on my PC just for myself to check it out.  There's a open-source server publicly available.  It just took a few hours to set it up.  Of course, you don't need subscription or anything.  It's a realm running on your PC.

In a private server, you can do anything because you're a GM.  You can teleport to anywhere in the world or to any instances.  You can max out your hp / mp / skill / spell / profession / level.  You can fly yourself, can get any item, can summon mobs anywhere, can run 10X speed, can even tranform yourself into Vaelastrasz ... you can do literally anything.  You become a super man.

So I explored everywhere with a Nether Drake mount.  I checked out instances and saw most end-game raid bosses (you can kill them with a single command ".die" or a GM spell "Sonic Boom" that does gazillion damage).  I've checked out all the epic items including the ones Illidan drops.  Tried out Tier 6 sets for most classes.  Epic item shopping spree.

I got to see what it had to offer, so I'm satisfied.  Of course, I didn't really "experience" end-game raiding of the expac per se because clicking a DIE macro doesn't equal the experience of 25man raiding.  Well, in fact, even on a private server, you can still do quests legitly and do regular raiding or 5man if you invite your friends to your server, but then again I don't want to spend another hundred of days so I guess that's fair.

Wowdetox.com helped me about my WoW addiction problem but setting up a private server sort of helped me completely terminate my last craving to go back to the game.  Sorry about not being on the topic.
