EQ has a rabid fan base, but so do nearly every little niche game out there. Sure, it's bigger than most, but what's the current population of EQ and EQ II...maybe a few 100k combined (BTW, I don't know the exact figure, so correct me if I'm wrong), which is a LONG way from evercrack. Like I said, I'm in POTBS, and it's a good game, but nothing earth shattering...WOW is the de facto standard, and unless you bring some to the table that signifigantly improves on it, you're not going to win over on that game. Of course, Blizzard knows this, and they are going to launch a MASSIVE update to WOW in the next upgrade after WOTLK, imho. Probably seriously update the grapics, and adopt many of the newer mechanics that others are currently implementing.
