I was originally going to buy the Silver model when it came out but upon hearing about the 40GB without B.C. so I purchased the then cheapened 60GB.
Had all three been available I would have chosen silver in a heartbeat as I've already got a black 360 and it just seems like a nice aesthetic choice, not to mention the silver model looks very sleek. I do own a silver PS3 controller though.
