That was nessesary but rather a cheap shot to conclude something that is, not really that true, because the playstation brand as a whole appeals to the casual market.

While the wii may be outselling the xbox 360 and the ps3, in no way does this mean that if the ps3 was priced at the same price, things would look like they do now. Not at all, but from what you write, atleast in the way you do, it seems like the interest in other consoles is not there, so while you could have been the bigger man, you simply decided to go down to the same level as the sales man who was spurting nonsense.

The second you mention the "Playstation Brand" you really lost a lot of credibility ... If you put the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS together and the XBox 360 with Windows PCs both Nintendo and Microsoft have huge (and trusted) brands that appeal to core and casual gamers.

You can play the "What if" game all you want and think about how the PS3 would be the dominant console had Sony sold it at a price more people were willing to pay for a console, but this doesn't change the reality of the situation ... We're two years into this generation and (because of the decisions Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft have made) the market is drastically different than it once was and there is nothing that has shown a $300 (or even $200) PS3 would be dramatically more popular than the current $400 PS3 is.

In all seriousness it amazes me how appealing alternate realities are to some kids. Is real life that crappy that you need to fill your waking hours with what-if scenarios?

OT - I do have some sympathy for employees at these stores. I was at an EB last year and had to wait in line for nearly 30minutes while some B chewed out an employee there because Sears didn't have any Wii's even though the Sears advert said they did. I was amazed that she went all the way to the other end of the mall to yell at an employee of another retailer because Sears didn't have Wii's.  Sometimes these kids take an incredible amount of abuse from A-Holes with a chip on their shoulder. While we expect good customer service, which the poster didn't get, it would help allot to try and be a good customer as well
