I distinctly remember saying something like this forever ago.
Microsoft will not continue to keep throwing money at the problem. Yes they have billions of dollars, but wasting money is wasting money, no matter how much you have, and no one wants to waste money.
The money they spent this generation will take a while to recoup. While Sony seems on the path to do so by not price cutting and throwing money at devs for DLC, MS seemed content to do whatever it took to get in second place, but apparently MS as a whole isn't having that.
Anyone could have seen this coming from a mile away. If they continue to hemorrhage money, even more clamping down will be done in order to stop the bleeding.
