Naw, looking better really has nothing to do with it. Its how the game runs. I admit it was a quick search, I didnt notice that 3 of the articles source the same thing. Look for EA talking about moving to PS3 lead and more from Criteron on it. Also Infinityward talks about it in COD4, though they had 2 teams working on their versions at the same time.
Its a simple mater that you have to build the engine and code in a more stream lined way to work with the Cell. When you do that, then port it to the 360 with out all the sloppy code that can get by on a normal CPU, you end up with a smoother running game. Im not saying the difference is massive, because it isnt. However it does end with a great PS3 game AND a great 360 game. Which is a win for everyone, and not a great 360 game and a lousy PS3 game. Which is a loose for PS3 owners.
I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"
"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"
"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"
