Oh, this article is a headache of poorly-written sentences and ideas that go nowhere. One minute the author is telling me that poor quality is the problem with Wii, the next minute he's pointing out that poor quality games sell just fine on PS2.
I get the basic idea that publishers are cramming crappy games on the system, but he doesn't seem to make a coherent point. By his own admission, Mario Party 8 and Wii Play are selling like hotcakes at a fat camp, and Red Steel did nearly as well. It mostly seems like a chance for him to cry because Resident Evil 4 isn't selling as well as some other games he doesn't like. Boo-hoo-hoo.
Heh heh. In spite of my ranting complaints, I think there is a point to take away from this article: developers and publishers need to really think about how to make money on Wii. There aren't a lot of safe bets.
Hawk's point about regulation being Nintendo's downfall the past couple of generations is well-made.
