I am really big into GT, but guess what? It may not be as polished but i have had more FUN (remember, the thing video games are supposed to be) playing ET than I ever did with any other racing game.
You are right about Wii being used as a place for devs to put cheap ports and cheap "trainging" games. Training games have sold extremely well on DS. I think that Nintendo was a little surprised that Big Brain didn't sell as much on Wii. Even Nintendo is adjusting to Wii success.
What Nintendo didn't realize, is that Casuals are driving the market right now but even casuals are going for the more traditional (kinda) and deeper games on the home consoles. Sports, Puzzle, Action, Adventure are all selling really well on Wii, and I think Devs will notice this and make more games along these lines, but still not costing anywhere near what a game on 360 or PS3 cost.
So did all the crappy games on Wii hurt the sales? No.
I've been saying it over and over: Consumers don't care what we (the "hardcore" gamers) think about their purchasing/gaming choices. Sorry bro, that you are disappointed. That's life. You are going to be angry and sad the rest of your life if you don't make some changes. I really wish you the best. Just have fun.
