I respect your opinion that you prefer linear story heavy games. I think you will agree though that if the story is good you'd like it. The other things that they have in Fable 2 is real weather. Storm clouds build for an hour before it chucks it down. Seasons change (lasting different lengths). For instance Oblivion had snow in one place. Fable 2 can have summer, snow storms all in one area. (thats why they say real changing weather and seasons.) Constantly growing plants from seeds to 100ft trees. Entire towns can be demolished from the game I play caused by my choices. Wheras in your game that town will be there till the end. This effects the economy then.
See what I mean by next gen? Even if you dont like that, it's the first in any game and certainly is the first game to not just use the CPU for pushing graphics.
