Agreed. I assumed the OP was asking "why do most people think the 360 library is better than the PS3 library?". But apparently that wasn't really what was being asked. It seems to have been "please show me conclusive proof that the 360 library is better than the PS3 library, or I'm not going to believe it's true."

The obvious answer is what you stated: the perception is there because of majority opinion, but some people seem to dislike that answer.

Also some people dislike the fact that it is opinion that the 360 library is better than the PS3.  It's not so much whether it's better or not, but it's how as the OP asked which is the topic.  And that boils down to what kind of games that you want.

Vanilla ice cream is the favorite flavor of ice cream in the USA.  This is demonstrated by the relative sales levels of ice cream flavors.  Personally, I prefer mint chocolate chip.  Do I get upset that most people seem to prefer vanilla?  Heck no.  Then again, I don't really care if I run with the herd or not.  I buy what I like.

The 360 has been out longer than the PS3, so of course it's going to have a larger library of games.  That means there's more to choose from in a lot of genre's.  Does that mean someone should prefer the 360's library over the PS3's?  No... as you say, it depends on what you like.  It's just that there are *likely* to be more people who prefer the 360's library because it had a head start and is much larger than the PS3's.  The PS2 had a much larger, and arguably better library compared to the Xbox, but that didn't man that Xbox owners had to choose the PS2 over the Xbox.  It just meant that trying to argue that the Xbox's library was better would get one laughed out of most video-gaming circles unless they were comprised primarily of Halo fans.
