I paid more attention to the French language debate, since I didn't have the Palin distraction. The English debate was good in that it allowed for a more free-flowing of ideas since it was in the mother tongue of more of the participants. I was impressed with Harper fending off a foursome of opposition, but everyone scored some points at some point.

If Duceppe was not in a party with a separatist agenda that cannot statistically aspire to power, I'd see him as my favorite leader.

I was just refering to how the four (most likely) opposition leaders (Layton, Dion, May, and Duceppe) spent the time attacking Harper, while Harper kept his cool while he explained his policies.

The one thing that I found (somewhat) funny was how Jack Layton, Elizabeth May, Stephan Dion, and Gilles Duceppe all seemed to be campaigning against George W. Bush. If you (actually) look at the policies and position of the Conservative policy of Canada they more closely resemble the Democrats from the United States than they resemble the Republicans.

On a side note, I have always thought that the Bloc could be very successful outside of Qubec if they talked about removing federal interference in provincial jurisdiction ...
