Now why in the hell did you do this?  This thread has nothing to do with the PS3 and you even picked the side most likely to lose in the end based on history and critic scores.  Please stop making me wish I wasn't a fan of the same console as you.

Critic-wise? I dunno. They seem to have equal chances to me. Both universes are interesting (SO universe doesn't need to be explained, DS-seems gothic, cold, and dark... that that strikes a string of interest with me). Both seem to be good looking from screenshots... it's too early to say anything now, but I don't think the games will end up far apart when it comes to scores.

To be fair, however, From Software really isn't the bastion of great JRPGs as far as I can remember:

Enchanted Arms	Star Ocean Series
Kings Field	Valkyrie Profile Series
Forever Kingdom	Radiata Stories
Eternal Ring	Infinite Undiscovery
Evergrace

That's not to say that Sony being involved with From Software's new JRPG won't help it - I am sure it'll be a great game. However, if we were placing bets, I think a major Tri-Ace effort backed by Square Enix and Microsoft coffers may stand a better chance. But time will tell.
