You missed my point entirely -- if you dislike IE for lack of standards support, that's fine. I asked why people are saying they hate it just because Microsoft makes it, which you might have read correctly if you weren't just looking for an opportunity to bash.
I don't test my web apps with IE, because I don't care if they're broken in IE. The more time people waste making their pages look right in IE, the less time MS will spend supporting web standards. Personally, I think they choose not to conform to the standard on purpose, as a way of keeping market share.
