MS has proven they like proprietary, they use a proprietary wireless controller instead of Bluetooth, they use a proprietary Hard drive and have a proprietary wirless adapter not much of a stretch to add disk to the list. I think it depends on how much Blu Ray will cost to add to the machine. It behoves both Sony, MS
Sony needs more drives out there and MS has this generation pushed out 21 million that would be a HUGE boost to blu ray
MS would not need to develop a proprietarty drive

I don't think that will happen. If they go HD-DVD then they can't play BluRay movies. BluRay isn't big right now, but how big will it be in at least two years when the possibility of the new XBox releases? How big will it be by the end of that XBox's life cycle?

True but they could sell it as upscale DVD player. I do agree when the 720 comes out blu ray will be a lot bigger than it is now, I think it benefits both MS and Sony for it to be blu ray but we will have to wait and see
PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.
Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game
