@OP: I'm sorry to hear what happened b4. This can most certainly turn into a dangerous situation if this kind of person is willing to make drastic measures. As mentioned before, always take some sort of self-defense item with you at all times like mace or a taser.
If he makes you feel that uncomfortable have someone go with you as escort and confront him telling him how it makes you feel uncomfortable what he is doing and if he doesn't stop you will contact authorities.
