Actually, I love the controls in Dementium.

It's definitely good survival horror, but there are two glaring faults with the game.

Fault 1: enemies respawn. This gets really annoying because you'll battle through a tough room, decide that's not really the way you wanted to go, and know full well that you'll have to find the exact same monsters hiding in the exact same maintenance closets on the way back.

Fault 2: and this is the huge one, the saving system. It only saves at the beginning of each chapter. Getting killed by the end level boss and realizing you've got to go a half hour of play back to the beginning really blows. Especially since it means you once again have to find the map for that level. It's almost a deal breaker.

But still, the game is a lot of fun. And damn creepy for any game, let alone a DS one.

I do like the controls, they just don't fit comfortably in my hand. They work like a charm, and 180 degree turns are executed perfectly with a simple quick motion on the stylus. It's just that to hit the R button in the heat of battle requires you to use your pinky finger since the rest of your hand is involved with the stylus and my left index finger cramps up staying stationary over the L button.

I agree with the two faults. What I don't understand is if enemies respawn why they couldn't have the health pills and ammo respawn also. At least then it would be fair ground since you really can't outrun enemies in this game once they're targeted towards you.
