Blu-ray is still doing better than DVD was at this timepoint. I don't understand those who say it will flop. What did they expect, that Blu-ray will beat DVD on day one?

In player sales.... when you count the PS3 as a player.  In Disc sales... it's behind by tens of millions.  When Blu-ray was at 15 million in the US... DVD was at over 60 million in a comparable timeframe.

Still blu-ray should still succeed the movie companies will push for being able to resell there movies every time.

Even if it doesn't replaced DVD as the dominant format it'll still be around, it's not going to go UMD or anything.  It'd be a more successful Laserdisc, something that the videophiles and moviephiles get and use until the next better format comes along.
