Sitcoms are one of the lowest forms of entertainment, Andi Kaufman knew it and he was right... then again those where other times and there have been some really good sitcoms... Seinfeld, Friends, Curb your enthusiasm... I liked Scrubs when it started... but after a few seasons I feel its the same jokes over and over again so I stopped watching...
Oh and sitcoms can also be a form of torture... ever seen "Who´s the Boss ???" that stuff is like a weapon of mass destruction...
