| crumas2 said: Take a look at this link: http://www.cdrinfo.com/sections/news/Details.aspx?NewsId=23402 Intel and SanDisk are going to be releasing VERY cheap solid state drives. We're talking 8 GB drives with a small form factor and low power requirements becoming available in the 4th quarter for $45 or so. Why even put a hard drive in a slimline console when by next spring they might be able to put in a solid state drive for fairly cheap in large OEM quantities? Apple can put a 120 GB drive in an iPod, but for some reason people seem to think that a slimline console can't accommodate a 20-60 GB drive. Strange. |
yeah but its microsofts console we are talking about. the same microsoft that makes its own type of hdd for its consoles. if it were to make a slimline and it was unable to fit its hdd that are already out on the market then alot of people might be mad and what not. of course they can jump their own hdd ship and adopt those solid state drives but 1. we dont know if this rumor is true 2. i doubt microsoft would stop trying to make cash off their own hdd
