At least it means I can play through Max Payne again, with optimal resolutions and effects, even through I never bothered to finish the original on the PS2 years ago.

The day Steam does a Half Life or Valve games collection weekend sale, I'll be all over that, even if it means buying several games I already own, just so I can have them available through my Steam account.

 

Every Valve game can be linked to your Steam account.  So you already have them available through your Steam account if you input the CD key that came with the game.  This allows you to download the game off of Steam instead of using the CD/DVD to install it.  This is one feature that I wish every game I bought at retail had that was also on Steam.  I love Steam, but I love having a boxed copy more.

It's nice to have the boxed copy as an installer, but having to have the disc present in drive while playing... it's a bit of a toss up.

I like the juke box approach to PC gaming, just as I prefer using iTunes to CDs.

I have games that are linked to Steam, some of which are not available on Steam (great selection, but very far from being all inclusive), but they still require the disk in drive to play.

For games that are available through Steam that allow you to download prior retail purchases using the same key; great. Best of both worlds. Unfortunately, most games aren't in this category.

Of course, any Valve games would though...
