The only down side of these weekend Steam deals is that they have me buying games I had about zero interest in playing on the PC if it weren't for the fact that they were practically being given away.
The comprehensive collection of iD games?
"All these games for $30? Sweet!"
"Yeah, but I haven't liked anything from iD since the original Doom."
"But it's $30"
"$30? Sold!"
Rock Star collection?
"That's a lot of games for $30"
"Yeah, but I didn't even like playing any of the GTA games on the PS2, and Manhunt? WTF? The only crap missing from this collection is State of Emergency."
"Wait, did you say $30? Sold!"
At least it means I can play through Max Payne again, with optimal resolutions and effects, even through I never bothered to finish the original on the PS2 years ago.
The day Steam does a Half Life or Valve games collection weekend sale, I'll be all over that, even if it means buying several games I already own, just so I can have them available through my Steam account.
