Both are actually two of the most absent this year.
That graph has McCain's whole career, his last few years are much worse - but I didn't say that because he does have a pretty good overall record.
My problem is for the 109th congress (2005-2006), where there was no presidential election this is what you see:
- 9.0%
- 5th place
-
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)
- Representing: Arizona
- Votes: 58 votes missed (9.0%), 587 votes cast
-
- 1.7%
- 59th place
-
Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL)
- Representing: Illinois
- Votes: 11 votes missed (1.7%), 634 votes cast
I'm not allowed to miss 9 percent of my work days. Biden missed more than McCain for that session.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
